On February 13, Pittsburgh DancExplosion competitive Ensemble once again graced the stage of Cornel High School for the DXP DanceXplosion Talent Tour USA. An Amazing Weekend for the girls….

On January 30, PDE competitive ensemble participated in the Starbound National Talent Competition held at Cornell High School. Competing solos, duets, trios, and group routines, PDE dancers competed with energy, style, and excellence. Way to go girls!

Winter Performance 2010

Our annual Winter Performance was a huge success!
On behalf of Amy & Michelle, PDE would like to thank Ashley, Renee, Gretchen, and miss Emma! I huge PDE Thank you also goes to our classroom assistants & demonstrators Samantha Beckas, Kelly Gallagher, & Jenna Markovich; as well as substitute demonstrators Allison Chammas and Angie Hedglin!
Renee, Amy, Ashley, and Gretchen all smiles after the show (but missing michelle too)! Where would I be without my girls?
None of this would be possible without the loyalty and support of our PDE families and dancers! We thank you so much for your continued support, excellent energy, and positivity that you bring to the studio; the smiling faces of our dancers makes PDE what it is! Thank you!

Kumite Classic 2009

On Sunday August 23, 2009, Pittsburgh DancExplosion Ensemble Dancers participated in the 2009 Kumite Classic. Taking place at the Hilton, the Kumite Classic was a Pittsburgh event to celebrate fitness, wellness, and nutrition. Highlighted performers and special guests included karate champions, body building professionals, dancers, cheerleaders, and Olympic medalists. Pittsburgh DancExplosion was featured on the main stage and according to one audience member, “the best of the weekend!” Participating Performers pictured above included Angie Hedglin, Emma Chammas, Ally Chammas, Alyssa Ferris, Jenna Markovich, and Kelly Gallagher represented by Director Amy Johnston.

The weekend of May 8-10, Pittsburgh DancExplosion dance ensemble participated in the Applause Talent 2009 Regionals that took place at Canon-McMillian High School in Canonsburg, PA. Participating in the event were Angie Hedglin, Kelly Gallagher, Emma Chammas, Alyssa Ferris, Allison Chammas, and Jenna Markovich

Kean Idol FINALS ‘09

On March 29, 2009, Pittsburgh DancExplosion ensemble dancers competed in the sixth annual Kean Idol FINAL amateur talent contest. Proceeds from the contest benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund. This fund has has provided more than $5.8 million to needy patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods and The Arbors who otherwise would not be able to afford their care.

Kean Idol 2009
